2010 JUNIOR LIFEGUARD PROGRAM
In the Junior Lifeguard program, participants learn what it truly takes to be a lifeguard. While increasing their swimming capabilities, they are able to learn about the physical aspects of being a professional rescuer. Participants are also challenged mentally with a curriculum that encompasses all aspects of being a lifeguard by training in the American Red Cross Guard Start Program, including First Aid, CPR and Water Safety Aide courses. Junior Lifeguard candidates also volunteer at the pool in various programs, which gives them a chance to work along side lifeguards seeing them in action and learn what they do. Junior Lifeguards will also attend three field trips where candidate can experience various types of lifeguarding duties.
